Abstract
At Budapest University of Economics and Business (BUEB), sustainability is embedded in our mission to generate positive social impact and empower our students with the capacity to act as change agents in their professional and personal lives. Guided by ESG principles and AACSB standards, we place Community at the center of our sustainability activities, responding to students’ demand for belonging and meaningful engagement. Our initiatives appear in both conventional and unconventional spaces, integrating seamlessly into academic and everyday environments to ensure sustainability remains a constant presence. Our efforts extend beyond the campus through targeted initiatives for disadvantaged groups, volunteer programs, and awareness campaigns addressing pressing social and environmental challenges. With these actions, BUEB demonstrates how higher education institutions can combine credibility in sustainability with tangible community building and social impact.
