Abstract

In the paper an approach to formal modelling of structured organizations is proposed. It is shown that by this approach three related concepts, namely, structure, organization and characteristics of organizations can be defined and studied separately. A structure is a system of relations between objects that uses to be described as a mixed graph. The organizations are sets of operative units that in turn can be considered as organizations. For different purposes the organizations are studied with different characteristics. These most important characteristics of an organizations may be its functionality, performance, material distribution capacity and information processing capacity. By this formal, separate modelling of these concepts we can set up a series of questions raised from different areas of economics, such as management, construction and reconstruction of companies or economical processes etc.
