Abstract

2011 őszén nagy vihart kavart a szerencsejáték-iparban egy gyors és drasztikus törvénymódosítás: a pénznyerő automatákat sújtó havi adóösszeg 100 ezer forintról 500 ezer forintra emelkedett. A szektorban működő szerencsejáték-szervező vállalatoknak újra kellett gondolniuk üzleti modelljüket, stratégiát kellett módosítaniuk azért, hogy be tudják vezetni a jogszabályban előírt szerveralapú üzemeltetést, és túléljék az odáig vezető egy évet. Kutatásaim során azt vizsgáltam, milyen válságkezelési stratégiát alkalmazott a szektor akkori zászlóshajója, a Game World Magyarország. A másodlagos kutatásaim és mélyinterjúim alapján megállapíthatom, hogy egy részletes adatelemzésen alapuló, stratégiai szinten megtervezett és végrehajtott válságterv minimalizálhatja egy vállalkozás veszteségeit.

Abstract

In Autumn 2011 an amendment of the Gambling Law had a huge impact on the firms in the industry: the gaming tax of the slot machines increased from 100 thousand HUF to 500 thousand HUF. The companies in the gambling industry had to rethink their business model and to redesign their strategies in order to achieve the prescribed server-based operation and to survive the year until its introduction. The objective of the research was to find out what kind of contingency plan the flagship of the industry, the Game World Hungary group could compile. My secondary research and the indepth interviews revealed that a contingency plan, based on a precise analysis of the historical data and implemented on a strategic level, can mitigate the loss of a company
