Abstract

It is of vital concern for enterprises to create information systems that will not only support the processes and satisfy the management’s need for information but will also provide the necessary information for their environment. Logistics entails one of the most significant chains of activities within the economic system, which organises production processes so that they would meet the customers’ requirements, and makes the necessary materials and components available for the seamless implementation of the logistics system. Integrated business management systems not only support logistics activities but also satisfy the management’s need for information as part of the planning, controlling, decision-making and checking functions. Electronic learning materials play an important role in educating students participating in distance learning or postgraduate courses. In this presentation, I would like to describe how we structure the electronic learning materials on the management information system that is important for logistics professionals in order to ensure efficiency. In the presentation I am going to describe the main elements of the logistics management information system and the related e-learning modules. Basic IT and logistics know-how is also part of the learning materials. In practice, the learning material is only going to be tested this semester, and therefore I will be able to analyse the resulting experience thereafter.
