Abstract

The paper summarizes the first results of ongoing research about the fandom of Korean culture in Europe. The primary research was based on two similar research, implemented in Hungary in 2018 and 2022. The method of the research contained secondary research of online sites and fandom communication platforms, a series of interviews with Korean company representatives or experts of related organizations followed by a structured targeted questionnaire spread over 12 countries in Europe. The research was launched in February 2024 and the analysis of the results is in progress. In this paper, the author summarizes the first results of the interviews and the primary research results in four countries, where the number of respondents exceeded 100. The results clearly show that the examined countries’ fandom is diverse and have some specific characteristics in preferences and consumption.
